listen to the poetry of your body

i am katie

My intention is not to heal you, rather it is to support you + your bodily intelligence to heal itself.

I am grateful at the chance of being able to serve you on your journey. I have experience from working as a Registered Nurse for many years as my foundation and have expanded into my passion and additional training in Ayurveda and Yoga to offer holistic and natural options for supporting your vitality from home.

Diploma in Ayurveda - 200 hr YTT - Bachelor in Nursing

Here to walk with women on their journey to reclaim

empowerment, health, vitality + peace.

I truly believe preventative health is the key to vital longevity and that Ayurvedic medicine has a big role to play in this. My dream is to one day contribute to bridging the current perspective of ‘this or that’, of having to choose which ‘side’ you are on, allopathic or natural medicine and instead, help others to see it ALL as necessary pieces to the puzzle that is the health of an individual. By pushing one system away we are missing out on the real benefits it can offer us, for in certain circumstances, both are needed, both have a place depending on what the situation is and true recognition of this is the dream.

I worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, across a multitude of different wards, I found this time to gift me with rich knowledge and experience. However, as I started implementing more natural practices myself at home for treating common ailments like headaches etc I felt called to undertake further training in a health system where this kind of approach is utilised. That’s when I completed my Diploma in Ayurveda, where I gained the skills and knowledge to begin Ayurvedic offerings. I also undertook an Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula training with Soma Shakti as I wished to deepen my knowledge and ability to nourish the postpartum woman. This is an area I feel falls drastically short in our modern day world, there is a definite lack of care and support services for postpartum women in their homes.  I can see a need for women to be once again supported as they previously were in this highly important time of their life.

“ i feel that caring for another based solely on the physical is fragmented ”

I am a yoga teacher, I studied my initial 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2018. This deeply ignited my passion for yoga and its ability to aid the physical body and its other, more subtler layers. I feel that caring for another based solely on the physical body is fragmented. The physical body is of course important, but we must also take into account their emotions, life events, thought patterns and understand that the true essence of that person may also be beyond that which we can see. Yoga is the window into this unseen world, and by utilising its practices, I feel we are connecting to ourselves more fully.

I went on to complete 150 hrs of yoga training in Himalayan Kundalini Kriya and Tantric philosophy, delving into Mantra, Pranayama, Kriya and Meditation techniques. These practices have aided me to offer classes that delve beyond the asanas. I have had red tent facilitator training where I found my voice and confidence to open women’s circles and have done so in whatever community I have been living in since. I have also co-created blessing ways with new mothers. .

I feel drawn to work with women, knowing how impactful a healthy, assured, confident woman can be in her family and community. I aim to support women to reconnect with this part of themselves.

I have recently been accepted for a 500 hour Feminine Embodiment training later this year which I endeavour to incorporate into postpartum services and future women's circles. Once again, focusing on empowering women to take control of their own healing and learn supportive tools to integrate into their life. Thereby reclaiming and nourishing themselves whilst re-becoming self reliant and powerful women.

I hope this gives you more of an understanding about what Suntè is about and the credentials I possess.

I am thankful for the journey I have had over the years. The time spent in hospitals working as a nurse were very beneficial and I know that it has also shaped me ready for this next chapter.

I have sincere reverence and gratitude for the opportunity to be learning and integrating these practices and teachings, I bow in respect to the many, many people who have handed down these teachings over the 1,000's of years, across different cultures and lands, through different hardships and obstacles, I thank all my teachers for the passing of knowledge.

I look forward to connecting with you.

All my love, Katie.
